Natalie performs regularly as a part of the brilliant Birmingham-based short form group Box of Frogs under Jon Trevor's leadership, and with The Same Faces (who do both short form shows and an Armando format) in Leicester.
Her improv highlights so far have been The Same Faces being nominated for a Leicester Comedy Festival award, performing at venues like Hoopla! in London, Bristol Improv Theatre and Glee club Birmingham, setting up improv classes for beginners in Loughborough, attending two British Improv Project weekends, being asked to guest with The Beanspillers in their critically acclaimed musical improv show, and taking part in the absolutely fantastic New year Intensive course run by award-winning musical improvisers The Showstoppers - later also guesting on Showstopper Andrew Pugsley's lockdown livestreamed twoprov show "Isolation".
Her all time greatest dream is to join the Showstoppers (if any of them are reading....) and she'd also love to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe. Watch this space on that one!
To some of you, the above will mean absolutely nothing.
For short form improv, think Whose Line Is It Anyway. Quickfire games, scenes and even songs, made up on stage in the moment based on suggestions from the audience. It's super fun to watch, often hilarious, and very addictive to do! Long form is more like watching an improvised play, sketch show of even musical - again, made up on the spot with input from the audience. If you've never seen any improv before, Natalie recommends checking out Showstopper: The Improvised Musical, The Noise next Door (or of course Box of Frogs!) You'll be hooked.
Corporate enquiries welcome, whether for performance or workshops. It's a great enrichment activity for drama students and a fun team building exercise - the basic principles of improv are actually just agreeing with and supporting your teammates, not trying to be funny!
